About

I have been professionally practicing for nearly 20 years as a licensed landscape architect in the USA and the UK with Hart Howerton, and recently established my own practice, BDG*LA (Brenner Design Group Landscape Architecture) in New York. My many varied experiences have taught me how to quickly think in three dimensions, shape the land, and create spaces that utilize plants and hardscape as my medium, always cognizant of the human experience. It is this awareness that drives me to better understand people and how design can enrich our lives.

Working domestically and internationally on large-scale development projects in such locations as Morocco, Czech Republic, and the Caribbean has enabled me to interact with people from all parts of the world and broaden my design perspective.

Throughout my career, I have cultivated my skills of adaptability, working on multiple projects of varying scales with overlapping schedules, from small gardens to 600 hectare resort towns. I enjoy working and learning in a team environment having acted both as a self-energized leader and a contributing member of multidisciplinary project teams.

Currently, I am very interested in a zoomed out, regionally sensitive approach to landscape site design, taking into account not only the specific needs for a project site but the wider environmental influence on the regional native flora and fauna. I am always seeking to expand my understanding of a healthy, holistic landscape.
